Lots of “Yes’s” coming up this valentines week.❤️”Yes”❤️
The Board of Trustees voted “YES” to Heather’s Pies for the use of their beautiful church kitchen. Now, the next step will be a friendly visit from our city of Mpls food inspector. Pay the licensing fee. Get my Kitchen Mgr. Certificate reinstated every 4 years. I’ve been skipping and dancing on my toes this entire past weekend. Also, hanging with the littles and spoiling them might have had something to do with it as well. 🥰 What a sweet challenge ahead. My Creme Pies can now go back to work. Have I ever mentioned how much I love making puddings, custards & creams along with my fruit pies?? The whole process involves science. And who didn’t like science in school?
If all goes according to plan I’ll have the church kitchen door wide open for you before PI-DAY 3/14
More details soon. In the meantime, the address for pie pick up remains the same. St. Louis Park. Here’s a sample pie made yesterday. It’s a pie full of the creamiest butterscotch custard in a buttery crust. This pie is love. Pure love from an old recipe card tucked in the sleeve of Grandma Bunny’s Breadmaking book. She was known for her bread as well. Talk about feeling her love. PIE is LOVE!!! Especially this week. Call by tmrw Monday for placing your Valentines Day Pies. The Message Pies take time to make.
Have a great snowy stuck indoors day. Perfect day for baking.

Hello Woodbury! Hello my beloved Royals!!
Thank you for the article with my Pie Business from the Woodbury Magazine for February. The month of love.
When I was a Royal back in the day. The little town had 2-gas stations, 2-pizza joints, and the other popular hangout: Wooddale Rollerskating Rink. Changed its image and grew to a large sporting complex. The tennis club at day and rink at night. It was where your parents dropped you off at 9pm. Saturday and pick up was 7am. Sunday. We were locked in. You leave, you didn’t get to come back in. Period. My heart was broken there. and I broke another’s heart. Oh, the teen drama of 1st time puppy love.
The “Gang” used to drag race on Radio Drive because it simply was a straight tar road of a 1/4 mile of beautiful tar that emptied out to the KDWB Station with its radio tower looming over you larger than life. My posse was the best. I lived two worlds. Cheerleader,Jocket,
And, part of a gang of friends that were the best of friends. And they drove super fast sweet cars. It’s amazing any of us survived. No seatbelt laws back then. Driving to cottage grove at a speed I won’t mention. They had your back. You would pull into the school parking lot as the bell was going off. Me, popping out of the car in my little green Indians cheerleader outfit. Dang, I was little. Times have changed😉😉
The stories of a teenager I could tell. Harmless teens. No such thing as vandalism. Those were for the kids that were bored.
Woodbury was transitioning in to growing up itself. While our school was being built we would be bussed to Cottage Grove Senior High as a Park Indian for that one year. Cornfields all around to Afton. I don’t recognize you anymore except for remnants here and there. You grew fast. The explosion was quick. But you’re still Woodbury to me. Now, go find that loyal friend and make some pie!! Thank you Woodbury I love ya guys always.💕❤️

Well, “Oh Hello” @getknitevents and Thank you from Heather @heathers_pies
When I tried to start my very own Pie Business back in the 80’s-yep, I’m older than half of you. 😉We were expecting Ryan and going into labor at 7 months with him being born deathly ill (we almost lost him at 5 days.) and the intense mothering. So, Taking care of him, and all the little intense stresses of being a super woman at 24 . Along comes another babe, full of all fireworks that the earth could not contain made the health problems of Ryan so much easier to take. Then at Age 5 Ryan became intensely sick overnight and the diagnosis was a Brain Tumor and the child would die in 24 hours if he was not operated on. Ok, God. He’s in your hands and guide Dr. Nagib etc...kind of moment for us. Pretty intense time.
Friends, your priorities change quickly in circumstances beyond your control and tending to healing your little one. Well, a little pie shop dream gets shoved away for a long time because it has to. Two little “Someone’s” need you. Two precious lives that took my breath away everyday because I knew from a personal history of pain and an incredible fear of losing so much and at such a young mommy age. Too much. I knew there was no way I could be the best mommy ever and run a Pie Business. I was wearing out as was.
Fast it forward 25 years and @heathers_pies did it! Yes, it may take so much longer than what you had hoped for and had kind of given up on And then one day your butter fairy comes over with 40lbs.of Irish Butter🍀 @kerrygoldusa and says; just another year will pass if you don’t go ahead and do it. I’d for so long taken care of others, that I forgot about my so deep of a dream pie business to share with the world. I think of my friend over @pieandmightymsp and how similar our stories are. Because of a simple thing called pie. Tomorrow is the big day for the board of trustees meeting and finding out if it’s a yay or nay to have use of the most beautiful grown up church basement kitchen for heather’s pies to use. The space is crazy spacious. A church kitchen is my favorite place to be. #gratefulpie #pieple #pie #pies .
